Never in a million years would I have thought…
- I’d be working in the freaking web and video game industry doing something I love.
- I’d be living in San Diego after 23 years in Minnesota.
- I’d be in an ‘unconventional’ relationship that is also the best relationship I’ve ever been in and ever will be in.
- That I’d be able to afford an incredibly nice condo in the best part of San Diego.
- That I’d end up identifying as a pansexual feminist liberal activist for gay rights (aka a heathen to mom and dad)
- That I’d have a 401k already and a joint account with my partner.
- That talking about buying a house, marrying, and starting a family isn’t taboo.
- That dropping out of college wouldn’t mean I’m a failure. That I can actually still be successful.
- That my dog would be the only thing that has remained constant with me over the years in my life.
The little spoiled brat only child who begged her parents for money constantly in Minnesota ended up moving out to the West Coast and doing just fine. I’m independent, secure, happy. I think for the first time, I’ve shown that I *am* capable of making good choices for myself after all.
