Yay for moving again
We only found out early last week that we needed to move, but we found a place within one day that we knew we had to have! We’re moving on July 25th, so next weekend. And yes, it’s during Comic-Con. Our tickets are for Sunday, and I’m sure we’ll get down there for a brief moment, but it’s unfortunate timing. We only just moved like 4 1/2 months ago, so it sucks that we have to do it again so soon. Our moving company actually laughed at me on the phone today when I scheduled them, haha.
We jumped on this one so quick because it’s a great deal. With a lot of these modern apartment complexes, you can tell where they cut corners. Either with lower quality carpet, or appliances, or fixtures - there is generally some low quality thrown in. This particular building was just completed in 2008, and the units were intended to be sold as condos. The owner of the building ended up going bankrupt after they were completed and so all 37 units are being leased out instead. They just started taking applications last Wednesday, and it’s almost all filled now. The location is prime, right on Park one block from University. There are so many places to walk to, and it’s also only 3 blocks from Balboa Park and 1.7 miles from our old place. So while we’re sacrificing being close to the park we’re getting a nicer place with an exercise facility, a gas stove, and better location activity-wise. We also get our first month free, so combined with getting most of our deposit back + extra cash from the new owners….we’re practically making money off moving.

Wee! I’m so excited! I was sad before about leaving the loft, but I’m excited to have a spare bedroom for guests to stay in. It might encourage more friends to come down and visit me!
