Why we’re moving..AGAIN. *sigh*
A few people have asked why we have to move out of our awesome loft…so here’s the reasoning!
Apparently the owners of our condo have relocated out of state for a new job, and their new company has purchased the condo as part of the relocation. They gave us three options:
1) We can buy it. (not going to happen)
2) We can stay through the remainder of our lease and then move out at the end. (Next March)
3) We can take the extra money they’re offering us, plus our full deposit and move out now.
#3 is the best option. I have lived in 4 places in San Diego in the two years I’ve lived here, and I just wanted to settle down and relax somewhere. Knowing that we’ll have to move out at the end of our lease will just prevent me from putting roots down. I’m really bummed out that the place we’re in won’t be our home for years to come - we did a whole new paint job, the price is good, location is awesome, and two parking places and bathrooms is great. However, we’re staying positive and looking at this as an okay change. There *were* disadvantages to this place. We now know we want an exercise facility in our place. We also would love more interior lighting - while the natural light is great during the day it is really hard to keep the place bright at night. The full hardwood floor upsets our dog, who falls down on it a lot. And being right on 5th means screaming ambulances at all hours of the day and night - so somewhere a bit quieter is preferred.
We are busting our asses looking for a great place to move. Our requirements are:
- At least 1000 square feet.
- Two full bathrooms
- Two parking spaces
- Upgraded kitchen
- Balcony space that allows grills
- Dog friendly
- Hillcrest/Mission Hills/Bankers Hill/North Park preferred, downtown if it’s a fantastic place.
- Not suburban apt/townhouse looking…we like contemporary/loft/studio type places.
What we’d love but don’t need…
- Pool
- View of the bay or downtown skyline
Budget around $2k give or take a hundred or two. If you know of anything please let me know.
