Mint Juleps, beach rides, and gay bookstores
Whew, what an exhausting weekend.
Friday night, we were all geared up to go to a party at Ari’s house, but Luke felt like he had a fever. He was quite sick, so we ended up just playing a little Free Realms and then going to sleep. Saturday morning I prepared for a Kentucky Derby get together at my place, which ended up pretty decent. It was the first time 3 of my coworkers/friends had seen our new loft, and we had mint juleps and watched the race. Unfortunately I lost about $50 on the race, but it was still fun to watch. :) Saturday night, a small group of people went out for fondue for my birthday which was also great. I loooove fondue! :)
Today, I woke up early and went for a lovely 5 hour trail ride to Imperial Beach, and had a blast riding Celeste. Riding to the beach is a whole new experience for me, and the ocean was actually pretty terrifying to the horses. They didn’t have any idea what to do about the massive crashing waves. I am sore from head to toe now from such a long ride without being in riding shape, but I can’t wait until next weekend to go riding again. This lease is really working out nicely, because I get all the fun without any of the obligation and hassle. Love it =D
Late this afternoon, Luke and I had Mexican food at Mama Testa, then stopped in for frozen yogurt and went to the Obelisk Bookstore on University - which is an awesome gay bookstore with tons of interesting reading material. I forced myself to leave without buying anything - but they had so many good looking books. I’m going to have to go back in there sometime. I also stopped at Twirl on 5th, which is a ladies clothes store with the most unbelievably cute clothing - albeit a bit expensive. They were just about to close so I didn’t buy anything….but I need to go back because they had a lot of cute summertime clothes and I *think* some might actually fit me. Anyway, this has been another episode of “what Tami did this weekend that isn’t remotely interesting to anyone!”
